Hypnia duvet composition
The Hypnia All Seasons duvet is crafted from 100% recycled hollow slick, a material known for its breathability and lightweight nature.
This eco-friendly choice feels soft and gentle on the skin, so your comfort doesn't come at the planet's expense.
The Hypnia duvet is designed to suit different needs and seasons. ☀️❄️
It has 200g/m² and 300g/m² layers, which can be combined by tying bows at each corner, which can be slightly impractical.
We recommend:
- The 200g/m² layer for summer
- The 300g/m² layer for spring/autumn
- The 200g/m² & 300g/m² combined for winter
But you can choose any combination of layers depending on how hot or cool you sleep.
The Hypnia duvet is also OEKO-TEX certified [1], meaning it’s tested against harmful substances in every fibre, thread, and fabric. 🧵
Hypnia duvet cover
The attached cover is made from 100% polyester and feels gentle and cosy against the skin.
The duvet is easy-care for those who want a fuss-free option and can be popped in the machine and washed at 40°C. 🧼
However, we also recommend using a regular duvet cover with your Hypnia duvet to help it last as long as possible.
The Hypnia Percale duvet cover is a great choice:
What does sleeping with the Hypnia duvet feel like?
Sleeping with the Hypnia All Seasons duvet offers a comfortable and cosy sleep.
It's cosy and warm with a soft and gentle feel that makes you feel like you’re being wrapped up in a cloud. ☁️
We tested the Hypnia duvet during the winter and used both layers together.
Tying the bows on each corner can be time-consuming, but much less so than other duvets we’ve tested.
However, if you struggle with tying bones, the Simba 3-in-1 duvet is a great alternative with practical click buttons.
Thanks to the breathable fabric, the duvet offers significant insulation to keep us warm without causing overheating.
This balance meant we had an undisturbed night of sleep without needing to constantly struggle in and out of the covers. 😴
Is the Hypnia duvet good for hot sleepers?
We experienced a cosy yet breathable sleep with the Hypnia All Seasons duvet.
But that’s just our personal experience. 😅
To provide a more accurate review of the duvet's thermal capabilities, we tested it using our thermal camera and compared it to the luxury Brook + Wilde Four Seasons Cavendish duvet.
Take a look at these results, and then we’ll break them down for you:
Av. temperature after 10 minutes | Av. temperature after 3 mins heat dispersion | |
Hypnia duvet with 200g/m² & 300g/m² layers | 21.4°C | 21.1°C |
Brook + Wilde Four Seasons Cavendish duvet with 4.5 & 8 tog layers | 22.65°C | 22.2°C |
Both the Hypnia and Brook + Wilde duvets have a two-layer composition designed to be well-insulated while also being breathable.
The results indicated that the Hypnia duvet is the cooler option and the closest to the optimal sleeping temperature of 18°C. ✔️
The Brook + Wilde duvet has a slightly higher heat dispersion rate of 0.45°C than the Hypnia duvet at 0.3°C, indicating only a slight difference between their performances.
We were very impressed with these results, especially as the Hypnia duvet is available for a fraction of the cost of the Cavendish duvet.
Overall, our results show that the Hypnia duvet is a breathable option, and we recommend it to hot sleepers.
If you do find the two layers too warm, remember you can always separate them and sleep with just one layer. 🔁
Is the Hypnia duvet washable?
The Hypnia All Seasons duvet is designed with practicality in mind.
It is machine washable at 40°C with your regular laundry detergent. 🧼
The duvet layers can be separated, allowing each part to easily fit into a standard washing machine.
A fully washable duvet is particularly beneficial for allergy sufferers, those who sweat at night, or households with children where nighttime accidents might occur. 💦
Another useful aspect of the Hypnia duvet is its dual-layer functionality.
When one layer is being washed, you still have another available for use.
This means there’s no waiting around for your duvet to dry, and you can continue enjoying a comfortable sleep, making this duvet a practical choice for busy lifestyles.
Hypnia duvet sizes
The Hypnia duvet is available in standard UK sizes.
These sizes include:
- Hypnia single duvet: 135 x 200 cm (4'6" x 6'6")
- Hypnia double duvet: 200 x 200 cm (6'6" x 6'6")
- Hypnia duvet king size: 230 x 220 cm (7'5" x 7'2")
- Hypnia duvet super-king: 260 x 220 cm (8'5" x 7'2")
We recommend choosing a duvet that matches your bed size or one larger if you want it to overhang for a draped look.
Unfortunately, we were sent a single-size duvet instead of a double-size for our Hypnia duvet review.
We always recommend double checking you have opted for the correct size before placing your order. 📏
Hypnia duvet prices
The Hypnia All Seasons duvet is priced moderately. 💰
It’s a more affordable alternative to other adjustable duvets, such as the Simba Hybrid 3-in-1 duvet and the luxurious Cavendish Four Seasons duvet by Brook + Wilde.
However, standard, non-customisable options like the Emma duvet and DreamCloud duvet are available at more cost-friendly prices.
Yet, its 2-in-1 ability to adapt to different seasons eliminates the need for multiple duvets, making it a value-for-money choice in the long term.
Hypnia duvet delivery & returns
The Hypnia duvet comes with free standard delivery and will be shipped within 48 hours. ⌛
Our Hypnia All Seasons duvet arrived promptly in a large cardboard box.
The duvet was also packed into a reusable fabric bag.
This makes it an excellent option for those who need to easily store a duvet or use it for travelling or sleepovers. 🚆
However, refolding and repacking the duvet into the bag is somewhat cumbersome, making it less suitable if you plan on doing this regularly.
Can I return the Hypnia duvet?
Unfortunately, the Hypnia duvet doesn’t include a sleep trial, but it does come with a 2-year guarantee against manufacturing faults. 🤞
Therefore, if you have any issues with your Hypnia duvet, such as seams coming apart or other material defects, you are protected by this warranty period.
To return your Hypnia duvet, you can contact the Hypnia team for assistance.
You’ll need your order number and the ability to upload images of the fault so Hypnia can deal with the problem efficiently.
Should you buy the Hypnia duvet?
The Hypnia duvet stands out with its high-quality recycled fibres, offering a cosy yet breathable sleeping experience. 🌬️
It's versatile across seasons, easy to clean, and safe from harmful chemicals.
Compared to many other 2-in-1 duvets available, the Hypnia duvet is very good value for money.
This duvet also supports environmental sustainability and comes with a solid 2-year warranty, making it a responsible and reliable choice for any home. ✅
